The Lazer ZX5 is the culmination of Kyosho's 15 years of experience with Electric 4WD off road cars. The Lazer was designed from the ground up as an off road electric buggy, not a 4WD on road sedan with longer arms and shocks. The shaft drive chassis is designed to promote weight balance left to right as well as the proper front to rear balance. The built in slipper clutch helps to smooth out the choppy tracks and helps damp harsh inputs to the drive train to keep it running run after run. Up front there are three options, ball differential, one-way and spool, plus you can use a center one-way on the drive shaft as well.
Thick, semi-symmetrical airfoil is great for aerobatics and slow landings. With its light weight the airplane is more responsive to the controls. Conventional built-up construction from precision laser cut parts. Cowl and wheel pants are pre-finished fiberglass. Landing gear is pre-finished aluminum. Airplane is a precision aerobatic performer; point rolls, knife-edges, snaps and rolls are performed with ease. 3D flight, hovering, torque rolls, waterfalls are all possible. All parts are pre-cut and ready for assembly. Initial assembly is very easy and only takes a few hours. For 4 or more channels: Ailerons (2 servos), Elevator, Rudder and Throttle.

The high efficiency shaft driven performance benchmark set by the FW-05 has been lifted with the increased racing power of the FW-05RR (double-R). Outstanding performances through all heats were achieved at the 2004 1/10 GP Touring Car World Championship in Brazil, despite being the only car of its type at the event. However, despite the bitter disappointment in the final due to uncontrollable circumstances (that is the nature of car racing), the double-R's potential was the talking point among the world's top drivers.
