The high efficiency shaft driven performance benchmark set by the FW-05 has been lifted with the increased racing power of the FW-05RR (double-R). Outstanding performances through all heats were achieved at the 2004 1/10 GP Touring Car World Championship in Brazil, despite being the only car of its type at the event. However, despite the bitter disappointment in the final due to uncontrollable circumstances (that is the nature of car racing), the double-R's potential was the talking point among the world's top drivers.
